FAQs

Do you offer in-person therapy?

At this time, I am only offering online therapy sessions. If I take in-person clients in the future, this page will be updated.

How does online therapy with Kathryn work?

Kathryn conducts all online therapy virtually. After completing intake paperwork, you will be emailed a link to each therapy session. Through the link, you will be able to connect to our confidential online therapy space. Phone sessions are also an option upon request. In addition, I offer an initial free 15-minute phone consultation. Telehealth is convenient for many people, as you can receive therapy from anywhere–including the comfort of your home or office.

To prepare for your therapy sessions with Kathryn, be sure to have a:

  • Stable and secure internet connection

  • Device with both a webcam and microphone

  • Quiet and private environment where you can speak comfortably

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Scientific research suggests that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many individuals. It can be especially helpful for those who have difficulty accessing in-person therapy due to geography, disability, or financial resources. Some clients may also prefer to receive mental health treatment from the safety of their homes, or a similarly comfortable environment.

To determine whether online therapy can be a benefit, however, it’s most important to consider your own needs. For example, a client who prefers face-to-face interactions over video calls may benefit more from in-person meetings. If you’re interested in exploring online therapy at my practice, consider scheduling a free 15-minute phone consultation today.
